Dinosaurs, Eating insects,SKALAR and some more of the Day of the dead.

 

November, just 56 days before the year ends, so what are your plans for this month? None yet? It`s okay, we have a couple ideas of things to do and places to go that you are going to love.

1.Enthomophagy: Or the art of  eating insect, yeah I also like better the name without knowing the meaning. But new experiences are always good, so why not come to this exposition at the San Idelfonso Old College Museum, Justo Sierra 16, Centro Histórico de la Cdad. de México, Centro, 06020 Ciudad de México, CDMX. Here you will find over 180 articles from 23 different collections,  which include: archeological pieces, fossils in ambar,entomological boxes, scientific illustrations, oil paintings, photographies , videos and 6 work pieces from the deceased artist Francisco Toledo, which stand out the colors of the biodiversity through light configurations that will change your mind about this little creatures. The entrace price is $50.You can visit any day until February 2nd.

2.Jurassic Tour at the Bicentenary Park: Dinosaurs, animatronics and augmented reality, welcome to the 21st Century. Located aside the park´s lake Discovery Jurassic Tour it´s an opened thematic area that will take you to the Jurassic Period to meet with  35 figues, 20 animatronics that include the Triceratops; Ceratosaurus; Stegosaurus, the mythic Tyranosaurus Rex and the newest of them, the Carnotaurus. You might have seen this one on the Disney´s Movie, Dinosaur. Don´t forget to bring your  phone fully charged and download the Discovery Jurassic Tour to interact with the 26 different species along the park and other 12 at the excavation area. The entrace price is $210 for adults and $105 for kids and you can come any day until February 20th.

3.SKALAR: Changing lights, moving mirrors and music, what do you get from this mix? An amazing experience that will play with your feelings, mind and eyes. This german group will make you feel as you have never before in this 45 minutes session where the only goal is to allow yourself to let go and flow with the other participants, and more important, with yourself . You can find this unique experience at the Fronton Mexico Museum, 06030, Av. de la República 17, Tabacalera, Cuauhtémoc, Ciudad de México, CDMX. The entrance price is $250. You can come any day before December 2nd.

4.Day of the Dead at Chapultepec Forest: Yes, we still celebrating the Day of the Dead 4 days after the stablished date, because we love our traditions. That´s why you should come and join us at the Chapultepec Forest, by the Lions door,in front of the Light Trail, to see how this forest decorates most of its extension with the skull, Xempazutchil flowers, lights, music and the main topic: The shrines, dedicated to our loved ones that come to visit us from the Mictlán the 1st and 2nd of November. The entrance will start at 18h00 and end at 23h00, just make sure to bring warm clothes and to be patient to get in, lots of people will like to come also and enjoy along. From November 6th to November 9th. And the best part: IT’S FREE!

5.Mexicanity Festival at Huerto Roma Verde: So.. what pops up in your mind when we say “Mexicanity”… Mariachis, Coco movie, Tequila, Tacos ? We don´t blame you, because this festival will be all about our gastronomy! Flautas (toasted tacos with cream, lettuce, cheese), Mole (heavy sauce or mexican gravy), Chocolate, Jamaica water and flowers, Cochinita pibil tacos (Slow roasted baby pig ), Mezcal (the smaller brother of tequila), Cemitas poblans (Torta or mexican sandwich with chicken, pork or beef, cheese, lettuce, avocado) and many more are the plates that you can try until November 8th at  Jalapa 234, Roma Sur, Cuauhtémoc, 06760 Cuauhtemoc, CDMX.
